Why not wear a yukata and enjoy the events in Nara?

The Nara Toukae festival, which illuminates the ancient city of Nara in a fantastic way at night, has been held since 1999, and this year marks its 26th year❣❣

 

Held for 10 days from August 5th to 14th every year✨
For just 10 days in summer, candlelit flowers bloom amid the vast nature and history of Nara🎶
*Todaiji Temple venue is held only on August 13th and 14th . Kasuga Taisha Shrine approach venue is held only on August 14th .

 

The “Touka” of Nara Toukae refers to the flower-shaped wax lump that forms at the end of a candle wick.
It is said that making this brings good luck (⋈◍＞◡＜◍). ✧♡
In honor of this Touka, we light each candle with a wish that those who visit the Nara Toukae will be happy.

Todaiji Temple will hold a special night-time viewing for only two days on August 13th and 14th.

During this period, the South Gate, Middle Gate, and Great Buddha Hall are also lit up, and the viewing window in front of the Great Buddha Hall is also open, giving you a rare opportunity to see the face of the Great Buddha from outside.

Candles are also lit around Kagami-ike Pond between the South Gate and the Middle Gate (⋈◍＞◡＜◍). ✧♡

※Although it is outside the Toukae period, the “Daibutsuden Manto Kuyoe” will be held on August 15th.

 

The Kasuga Taisha approach venue will only be open on August 14th❣❣
Kasuga Taisha will hold the Chugen Mantoro Festival on August 14th and on August 15th outside of the Toukae festival period🎵

During the Nara Toukae festival from August 5th to 14th,
opening hours will be extended until 9:30pm (return by 9pm/1,100 yen)❣❣

 

During the nighttime business hours, you can return the bikes by 9pm even if you are not using the bikes for the Toukae event.

Next-day returns are also available (returns between 9am and 12pm the following day/2,200 yen)❣❣

From June to September, we mainly rent yukata, but we also have summer kimonos (unlined kimonos) available
