Welcome to Tea ceremony and Calligraphy shop Waplus Nara.
Today, we would like to introduce how to express your individuality through calligraphy.
Calligraphy is called “Shodo” in Japanese.

Calligraphy is not just about writing beautifully.

Every brushstroke reflects the writer’s feelings, rhythm, and personality.
Even if we follow the same model, no two works ever look the same.
The brush pressure, speed, and breathing all show the artist’s  personality.

This letter is Dragon, and it is called “龍（りゅう）” in Japanese.

These two pictures both show the “Dragon”.

Each line and stroke brings out the spirit and strength of the dragon.
Also, I want you to focus on the tail of the dragon. The dragon is flying in the sky, so its tail is written in a unique style.
It is one of the  perfect examples of how calligraphy allows you to express yourself freely.

As you can see, you can express individuality through calligraphy!
