Japanese calligraphy, called Shodo, is the traditional art of writing with brush and ink. By learning the basics and practicing regularly, anyone can improve step by step.

Tips for Beginners

• Sit with a relaxed, straight posture
• Hold the brush lightly and naturally
• Write each stroke slowly and carefully
• Start with simple kanji such as 一, 永, and 木
• Practice a little every day

Beautiful calligraphy comes from patience and practice, not talent alone.
