What is the Chabana in May?

💗💚~~Hello, this is Tea ceremony and Calligraphy shop Waplus Nara~~💚💗

We have received some questions from guests and we love that!

Today also we got it. They asked us “What is the Chabana in May? ”

That is a good question!

May is a beautiful season filled with fresh greenery and the gentle breeze of early summer.

In the world of tea ceremony, this is an important time to express the transition from spring to summer

through chabana — flowers arranged for the tea room. We will show you some Chabana in May.

・Miyakowasure (Japanese Aster)

Miyakowasure is known for its delicate purple blossoms and refined appearance.
Its modest yet elegant beauty blends perfectly with the calm atmosphere of a tea room.

・Tessen (Clematis)

Tessen adds a graceful and refreshing feeling to early summer tea gatherings.

・Unohana (Deutzia)

With its small white blossoms, Unohana conveys purity and tranquility.

・Yamaboushi (Kousa Dogwood)

Yamaboushi is admired for its white petal-like bracts and harmony with fresh greenery.

Chabana is not simply floral decoration.

It is an expression of Japanese aesthetics that captures the atmosphere and spirit of each season within

the tea room.

We hold three sessions daily at 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 3:00 PM.

Why don’t you come and experience a beautiful tea ceremony?

We look forward to seeing you💚💗
