🌸🌸🌸

As March approaches, it’s getting warmer and spring is finally here❣❣

It’s the season when we can’t wait for spring news like plum blossoms and cherry blossoms🎶

Why not enjoy cherry blossom viewing while wearing a kimono? ?

We will show you the best cherry blossom spots in Nara✨

🌸Recommended cherry blossom spots🌸

[Nara Park/Deer Park (Nara City)]

Nara Park is a nature-rich park dotted with historic temples and shrines such as Todaiji Temple, Kofukuji Temple, and Kasuga Taisha Shrine.

It is famous for its deer, but it is also a famous cherry blossom spot with a wide variety of cherry trees.🌸

It has also been selected as one of the “100 Best Cherry Blossom Spots”❣❣

In the vast park of 5.11 million square meters, you can enjoy a variety of cherry blossoms blooming one after another from late March to early May✨

Also, the double cherry blossoms that bloom from late April to early May are called “Nara no Yaezakura”

and are small and elegant, so we also recommend them✨

There are many recommended spots in the vast area of Nara Park🎵

●Ukimido

The building floating on the “Sagiike” pond in Nara Park is the “Ukimido” (* ˘ ᵕ ˘*)☆

You can also take photos of the cherry blossoms overlapping with the Ukimido📷✨

A beautiful cherry blossom spot with distinctive buildings and cherry trees reflected in the pond🌸

It’s also popular for anniversary photo shoots such as pre-wedding photo shoots and location photo shoots of furisode❣❣

●Kofukuji Temple

Kofuku-ji Temple is registered as a World Heritage Site as part of the “Cultural Assets of Ancient Nara” along with Todai-ji Temple and other temples.

Somei-yoshino cherry trees, double-flowered cherry trees (late-blooming), weeping cherry trees, and other trees are planted around the approach leading from Sanjo-dori to the Nanendo Hall and the three-story pagoda, allowing you to enjoy cherry blossoms for a long period of time.

The view of the cherry blossoms, the five-story pagoda (currently under construction), the Chukondo Hall, the Nanendo Hall, and other buildings is beautiful.

●Around Todaiji Temple

Todaiji Temple is registered as a World Heritage Site as part of the “Cultural Assets of Ancient Nara”🎵

Although not throughout the entire grounds of Todaiji Temple, cherry blossoms are planted in various places within the grounds❣❣

You can enjoy the cherry blossoms with the Nara deer with the Great Buddha Hall of Todaiji Temple in the background

The most Nara-like cherry blossom spot🌸

●Kasugano Garden

The spot where you can see the most cherry blossoms in the Nara Park area✨

Cherry trees are planted around a grassy area, and it’s a recommended spot to take photos with deer📷✨

[Himuro Shrine (Nara City)]

A shrine located right in front of the Nara National Museum ⛩

The weeping cherry trees in the precincts are famous, but there are also cherry trees planted around the torii gate 🌸🎵

[Saho River (Nara City)]

Saho River flows from the northern part of Nara City to Yamatokoriyama.

The cherry blossoms along the Saho River were first planted by Nara magistrate Kawaji Toshiakira at the end of the Edo period.
They are also called “Kawaji Sakura”❣❣

About a 5-10 minute walk from Kintetsu Shin-Omiya Station, one of the stations next to Kintetsu Nara Station.

A cherry blossom viewing spot loved by locals🌸

A hidden gem with relatively few tourists✨

[Obitokeji Temple (Nara City)]

This ancient temple was named “Obitokedera” after Emperor Montoku’s childless wife Fujiwara Akiko prayed for the safe birth of Emperor Seiwa during the early Heian period❣❣
Since ancient times, the temple has offered belly bands to the imperial family when they become pregnant✨

There are large Somei-Yoshino cherry trees, and although there are not many of them, they blend in with the temple’s historical architecture and the thirteen-story pagoda, creating a tranquil and tasteful landscape🎵
The best time to see the cherry blossoms is usually from late March to mid-Aprilsa🌸

[Tsukigase (Nara City)]

Tsukigase Lake is famous as a plum blossom spot with Tsukigase Plum Grove, which was the first place in Japan to be designated as a scenic spot along with Nara Park❣❣

The cherry blossoms that bloom for 4 kilometers along the shore of Tsukigase Lake are also popular as a cherry blossom viewing spot✨

Around Hachiman Bridge and Tsukigase Bridge, you can enjoy beautiful views of the cherry blossoms, bridges, and lake🌸

[Yagyu (Nara City)]

●Yagyu jinya-ato

This is the site of the Yagyu clan’s camp, which was built by Yagyu Muneyoshi over a period of three years in 1642 (Kan’ei 14).

The Yagyu Cherry Blossom Festival is held at the site of the Yagyu Jinya on the first Saturday and Sunday of April every year🌸

This year, in 2025, it is scheduled to be held for two days, on Saturday, April 5th and Sunday, April 6th❣❣

●Hotoku Zenji Temple

The family temple of the Yagyu family, built in 1638 by Zen master Takuan, is surrounded by around 200 Somei-yoshino cherry trees.

✨Extra Edition✨

●Itto-seki (Split Boulder)

Yagyu is known as the home of master swordsmen🗡️

The “Yagyu Itto Stone” in Yagyu is a huge stone about 7m square that split in two in the middle, located in Toiwaya, about 700m from Houtokuji Temple‼

The place where the legend remains that when Sekishusai (Yagyu Muneyoshi) fought a Tengu during his training and cut down the Tengu with a single sword, the huge stone that split in two remained✨

A popular spot for pilgrimages to the sacred land of the popular anime “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba”🎶

You can recreate the famous scene that Kamado Tanjiro showed during his training❣❣

The best time to see the cherry blossoms in Yagyu is usually around mid-April🌸
