Nara is a historic land with many World Heritage sites and national treasure buildings❣❣

The ancient city of Nara has many historic temples and shrines

Among these, there are several places known as “power spots”✨

Today we will be introducing the second part of our series on power spots in Nara (⋈◍>◡<◍)✧♡

[Todaiji Temple (Nara City)]

A historic temple built by the imperial wish of Emperor Shomu during the Nara period

Todaiji Temple is famous for the “Great Buddha of Nara (= Vairocana Buddha)”❣❣

It is registered as a World Heritage Site as a “Cultural Asset of the Ancient Capital of Nara”✨

The benefits of the Great Buddha are “prayer for safe childbirth” and “good health”

One of the pillars in the Great Buddha Hall is a “pillar of good fortune” with a hole the same size as the Great Buddha’s nostril

It is said that you will receive benefits if you pass through this hole

Please try passing through🎶

In addition, Todaiji Temple’s traditional memorial service “Omizutori (= Shunie)” has been held for over 1,270 years since the Nara period❣❣

[Omiwa Shrine (Sakurai City)]

One of the oldest shrines in Japan, recorded in the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki⛩

The main deity, Omononushi-no-Okami, is one of the gods that appear in Japanese mythology

Since the deity Omononushi-no-Okami resides on Mt. Miwa, the main shrine has not been built since ancient times

Mt. Miwa is worshiped through the three torii gates at the back of the worship hall❣❣

Omononushi-no-Okami is worshiped as the god of nation building

He is a snake god, and the guardian deity of all aspects of human life, including nation building, medicine, sake brewing, and protection from evil✨

Benefits of Omiwa Shrine

・Protection from misfortune
・Fulfillment of wishes
・Safety of the home
・Safe childbirth
・Matchmaking
・Prosperity in business
・Prosperity of the company
・Cure for illnesses

Among them, the Meoto Iwa Rocks, which are connected to the legend of the “Red Thread of Fate,” are said to be a place of matchmaking,

The “sacred water” that springs from the Sai Shrine, a branch shrine, is said to cure all illnesses and bring good health and longevity,

and many people visit 🎵

You can also enter Mt. Miwa to worship,
Entering the mountain where the gods reside will give you special powers ✨

The enshrined deity, Omononushi-no-Okami, is also known for saving the “White Rabbit of Inaba” 🎵

Because of this, there is a rabbit called “Nade Usagi” that has a deep connection with rabbits 🐇

It is said that stroking this “Nade Usagi” will not only improve your luck, but also relieve pain in the part of your body that you stroke❣❣

[Hasedera Temple (Sakurai City)]

Hasedera is known for its “principal statue of the eleven-headed Kannon Bodhisattva,” one of the largest Kannon statues in Japan.

The head temple of the Buzan sect of Shingon Buddhism, the principal image of the eleven-headed Kannon Bodhisattva was enshrined by Tokudo Shonin in 727, and it has become known as a Kannon sacred site.

It is also known as the “Temple of Flowers” because flowers bloom all year round.

Hase Kannon, the principal image of the eleven-headed Kannon Bodhisattva, which also appears in “The Tale of Genji” and “The Pillow Book,” is a merciful bodhisattva who can change its appearance into 33 different types and extend a helping hand upon request.

The benefits of the temple include good luck, the fulfillment of wishes, beauty, and various other matchmaking powers (⋈◍>◡<◍). ✧♡

That’s all for today’s power spot introduction✨

There are still many more power spots in Nara❣❣

We’ll introduce the spots we couldn’t introduce this time next time (⋈◍>◡<◍). ✧♡
