👘👘👘

The cherry blossom season is over and we are now in early summer.
We’ve already had some hot summer days and summer is fast approaching🎇

Waplus Nara’s kimono rental season is also summer ❣❣
We have started accepting reservations for yukata rentals from June to September ✨

When you think of summer in Japan, you think of festivals? Fireworks displays?

In Japan, people often wear yukatas to festivals and fireworks displays👘✨

When you see someone wearing a yukata in a crowded place like a festival, your eyes are naturally drawn to them regardless of gender❣❣

The cool, refreshing look of Japanese clothing is wonderful, isn’t it? (⋈◍>◡<◍). ✧♡

Why not enjoy the Japanese summer in Nara wearing a yukata?

Yukata is also recommended for summer dates and walks🎶

Why not enjoy summer in the ancient capital of Nara and Japan in a different outfit?(*´꒳`*)🌙✨

In addition to festivals and fireworks, summer in Japan also brings with it cold foods and sweets such as watermelon and shaved ice🍧🍉

Nara is known as the “holy land of ice” and is famous as a hotbed of “shaved ice”❣❣

[Why is Nara called the holy land of ice?]

Its origins date back about 1,300 years ago.

In ancient times, a place where ice made in the middle of winter was stored until summer was called a “himuro” (icehouse).
This carefully stored ice remained even when the warm season arrived, and it is said that the emperor, members of the imperial family, and people of high rank enjoyed it to cool off.

Also, in ancient Japan, the way the ice formed and its thickness on New Year’s Day was used to predict whether the year would bring a good harvest.
Ice also connected people with nature and the gods❣❣

In Nara, there are two “Himuro Shrines” that are said to have started as shrines built around the Himuro to enshrine the god who is the guardian deity of the Himuro❣❣

Himuro Shrine, located right next to Nara Park, holds an ice offering ceremony every year on May 1st, and is visited by many people involved in the ice-making, refrigeration, and freezing industries✨

You can make shaved ice offerings at Himuro Shrine (only available in summer, June 15th to September 15th) 🍧

Offer shaved ice and pray 🌙✨
After that, you can eat the shaved ice (*´꒳`*)✨

Syrup is also available on the grounds❣❣

The fortune slips are also special 🎶

“Ice fortune telling” – Place the fortune slip on the ice and wait for a while until the letters appear.

There are several places where you can find water fortune-telling slips, such as Kasuga Taisha Shrine and Kifune Shrine in Kyoto, but ice fortune-telling slips are rare❣❣

From June to September, we mainly rent yukata, but we also have summer kimonos (unlined kimonos) available ✨
It has a different feel from yukata and is recommended (⋈◍>◡<◍). ✧♡

We also have kimono, long-sleeved kimono, and Shichi-Go-San costumes available all year round 🎵

Please feel free to contact us ❣
