Daily life of Waplus Nara

This is the kimono rental shop Waplus Nara, Nara Park Bus Terminal store (*´꒳`*)
The number of hot days is increasing and summer is finally here❣❣
Waplus Nara Nara Park Bus Terminal store will start renting yukata from June✨
Summer in Japan means fireworks and festivals🎶
Today, we’ll be introducing summer events in Nara❣❣
We recommend renting a yukata for summer events👘✨
[Nara Toukae Festival (Around Nara Park, Nara City)]
The Nara Toukae festival, which illuminates the ancient city of Nara in a fantastic way at night, has been held since 1999, and this year marks its 26th year❣❣
Held for 10 days every year from August 5th to 14th✨
For just 10 days in summer, candlelit flowers will bloom amid the vast nature and history of Nara 🎶
*Todaiji Temple venue will be held only on 8/13 (Tue) and 8/14 (Wed). Kasuga Taisha Shrine approach venue will be held only on 8/14 (Wed)❣❣
The “Touka” in Nara Toukae refers to the flower-shaped lump of wax that forms at the end of a candle wick.
It is said that it is auspicious to have this❣❣
In honor of this lantern, we light each candle with a wish that those who come to the Nara Toukae will find happiness🎵
(Nara Toukae website;https://www.toukae.jp/)
Todaiji Temple will hold a special night-time viewing for only two days on August 13th and 14th❣❣
During this period, the South Gate, Middle Gate and Great Buddha Hall are lit up, and the observation window in front of the Great Buddha Hall is open, giving you a rare opportunity to see the face of the Great Buddha from outside.
Candles are also lit around Kagami-ike Pond between the South Gate and the Middle Gate (⋈◍>◡<◍). ✧♡
※Although it is outside the Toukae period, the “Daibutsuden Manto Kuyoe” will be held on August 15th.
The Kasuga Taisha Shrine approach venue will be open only on August 14th❣❣
At Kasuga Taisha Shrine, the Chugen Mantoro Festival will be held on August 14th and on August 15th outside of the Toukae festival period✨
【Nara Daimonji Okuribi (Takamadoyama, Nara City)】
The traditional event that lights up the ancient city of Nara in summer: “Nara Daimonji Okuribi”
It is held every year on August 15th🎵✨
It began in 1960 to console the souls of those who died in the war!
Now, it is an event to commemorate all those who have passed away and to pray for world peace.
It is a beloved summer feature of the ancient city of Nara (*´꒳`*)🌙✨
Prior to lighting the “大” character on Mt. Takamado,
a Shinto memorial service will be held by the priests of Kasuga Taisha Shrine
and a Buddhist memorial service will be held by monks from temples throughout the prefecture at Tobihino in the grounds of Kasuga Taisha Shrine!!
This is a very unusual way of praying for peace beyond religion and sects✨
The bonfires that float on Mt. Takamado can be seen from various places in Nara City, such as Nara Park, Ukimido Hall, and the Heijo Palace ruins🎵
