Introducing the fireworks festivals around Kansai ✨

First, let me introduce the fireworks festivals in Nara Prefecture (⋈◍＞◡＜◍). ✧♡

 

[Yoshinogawa Summer Fireworks Festival (Gojo City, Nara Prefecture)]

The 2025 event is scheduled for August 15th.

The usual start time is around 8pm.✨

There will be around 6,000 fireworks over 60 minutes, so it’s a spectacular sight❣❣

 

[The Grand Festival of Taira no Koremori (Nosakagawa Village, Nara Prefecture)]

The date for 2025 has yet to be decided (July 27, 2024. Will proceed rain or shine, but will be canceled if a warning is issued).

The “Taira Tomomori Festival” will be held in Nosegawa Village, where Taira Tomomori died.

The fireworks are usually launched at 8pm, lighting up the night sky with about 3,000 fireworks🎶

 

[Air Self-Defense Force Nara Base Fireworks Display (Heijoyama Summer Festival) (Nara City, Nara Prefecture)]

The date for 2025 has yet to be decided (July 27, 2024; canceled if it rains)

The fireworks are scheduled to be launched from 7:45 to 8:00 p.m.

A summer festival held at the only Self-Defense Force base in Nara Prefecture❣❣

In addition to the fireworks, there will also be events by Nara base personnel and Bon Odori dancing🎵

 

[Onpara Festival Dedication Fireworks (Sakurai City, Nara Prefecture)]

Scheduled to be held every year on July 31st (regular festivals are on the 30th and 31st)

(Tsunagoshi Shrine Regular Festival) “Onpara Festival” is a Shinto ritual for “Nagoshi no Oharae”

A votive fireworks display to mark the end of the ritual✨

The finale of the fireworks display is said to be amazing❣❣

[Tenjin Festival Dedication Fireworks (Kita-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture)]

Scheduled to be held on July 25, 2025

Han Tenmangu Shrine’s Tenjin Festival is one of Japan’s three major festivals that has been going for over 1,000 years❣❣

The eve of the festival is held on July 24th every year, and the main festival is held on the 25th

A votive fireworks display that will decorate the finale of the event that attracts about 1.3 million people every year🎆

The spectacle of the bonfires of about 100 large ships and about 3,000 fireworks is fantastic✨

 

[Lake Biwako Fireworks Festival (Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture)]

Scheduled to be held on August 8, 2025 (cancelled in case of bad weather/no postponement)

A fireworks festival with approximately 10,000 fireworks, one of the largest in the Kansai region✨

A performance unique to Shiga will be held, including fireworks spreading over the lake surface and a collaboration with the Lake Biwa Flower Fountain🎵

[Shingu Fireworks Festival (Shingu City, Wakayama Prefecture)]

Scheduled to be held on August 13, 2025

The Kumano Jofuku Manto Festival was started to commemorate the virtues of Jofuku, who is said to have come to Japan from China during the Qin Dynasty❣❣

A memorial service for Jofuku will be held at Jofuku Park on the 12th, and the Shingu Fireworks Festival will be held on the Kumano River riverbed on the 13th🎆🎶

Approximately 6,000 fireworks will brighten up the night sky and the river surface✨

 

[Naniwa Yodogawa Fireworks Festival (Yodogawa-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture)]

Scheduled to be held on October 18, 2025

A fireworks display organized by volunteer citizens in 1989 (Heisei 1)✨

It has now become a popular fireworks display that is a seasonal feature of summer in Osaka❣❣

The number of fireworks launched is not disclosed, but it is a large-scale event that attracts approximately 450,000 people✨

Every year, during the Nara Toukae Festival from August 5th to 14th,

business hours will be extended until 9:30pm (return by 9pm/1,100 yen)❣❣

※This is planned again this year

 

During the nighttime business hours, you can return the bikes by 9pm even if you are not using the bikes for the Toukae event.

Next-day returns are also available (returns between 9am and 12pm the following day/2,200 yen)❣❣
