Daily life of Waplus Nara

💗💚~~Hello, this is Tea ceremony and Calligraphy shop waplus Nara~~💚💗
Today I will introduce the “natsume”, one of the essential tea utensils in the tea ceremony.
The “natsume” is a lidded lacquerware container used to hold matcha powder.
It is typically made of a wooden base coated with lacquer.

The maki-e technique is often used, where designs and patterns are painted
onto the lacquered surface and then decorated by
sprinkling powdered gold, silver, or other metals.
Natsume decorated with maki-e are highly valued as works of art.

Natsume decorations often feature seasonal patterns, and they are used according to the time of year.

At Tea Ceremony and Calligraphy Shop Waplus Nara,
you can observe authentic tea ceremonies
using traditional tea utensils, including natsume.
We hold three sessions daily at 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 3:00 PM.
Why don’t you come and experience a beautiful tea ceremony?
We look forward to seeing you💚💗
