We have received some questions from guests and we love that!
Today also we got it. They asked us “What is the Chabana in June? ” It is a good question.
As the rainy season begins in Japan. In the world of tea ceremony, this is a season that embraces both freshness and quiet elegance. The flowers used in the tea room, called chabana (tea flowers), reflect the beauty of early summer and the subtle atmosphere of the rainy season. We will show you some Chabana in June.
・Hydrangea (Ajisai)
Hydrangeas are among the most beloved flowers of Japan’s rainy season. Their soft colors and delicate transitions create a calm and elegant atmosphere in the tea room.
・Bellflower (Hotarubukuro)
These charming bell-shaped flowers symbolize the quiet beauty of early summer.
・Hangesho (Half-White Plant)
Hangesho is known for its mysterious leaves that gradually turn white during early summer. This unique plant creates a refreshing visual effect
・Japanese Stewartia (Natsutsubaki / Sara)
The Japanese stewartia is admired for its pure white blossoms and fleeting beauty. Each flower blooms only for a single day before falling.
Chabana is not simply floral decoration.
It is an expression of Japanese aesthetics that captures the atmosphere and spirit of each season within
the tea room.
We hold three sessions daily at 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 3:00 PM.
