\u26c4Here is an information of an event held in Nara in winter\u26c4<\/p>\n

Approximately 1,300 wild deer \ud83e\udd8c live in Nara Park.<\/p>\n

The deer are worshiped as the messengers of the gods at Kasuga Taisha Shrine.<\/p>\n

The deer have been protected with care in Nara for over 1,250 years and<\/p>\n

have mostly lost their fear of people.<\/p>\n

They will bow to you because they want to have the special crackers<\/p>\n

that tourists can purchase in the park.<\/p>\n

There is an event called “Shika-yose” near Kasuga Taisha Shrine.<\/p>\n

It is said that “Shika-yose”started about 130 years ago.<\/p>\n

Shika-yose is held at the place called Tobihino on the south side<\/p>\n

of the approach to Kasuga Taisha Shrine.<\/p>\n

When the natural horn starts blowing, the sound of the horn attracts many deer from the deep forest.<\/p>\n

The deer are given acorns as a reward.<\/p>\n

This is a peaceful scene that can only be seen in Nara.<\/p>\n

You are welcomed to experience this peaceful scene surrounded by the crisp, clear morning air.<\/p>\n

It is held every winter from January to February for tourists.<\/p>\n

It will be held on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.<\/p>\n

You can see \u201cShika-yose\u201d for free for about 15 minutes from 10am.<\/p>\n

Directions: Take the city loop bus from JR Nara Station or Kintetsu Nara Station<\/p>\n

and get off at \u300cKasugataisha Omotesando\u300dstop to see winter deer gathering.<\/p>\n

After walking around Nara, please drop in Waplus Tea ceremony shop<\/p>\n

for the tea ceremony and Japanese calligraphy experience.<\/p>\n
