TANGO Yasaka Summer Fireworks Festival

The first one we will introduce is the TANGO Yasaka Noryo Fireworks Festival.
This fireworks display is attracting a lot of attention. This will be the first time in three years since it was canceled due to the coronavirus.
This year as well, we have decided to tie-up with the “Tango Kingdom Festival” held at “Shoku no Miyako” in the Tango Kingdom, so you can enjoy not only the fireworks but also the festival all day long from daytime to night.

Both the Tango Kingdom Festival and the fireworks display will be held at the “Shoku no Miyako” lawn square in the Tango Kingdom. The Tango Kingdom Festival starts at 13:00 and ends at 16:00. In addition to various stage events such as junior high and high school performances, you can enjoy the many stalls.
Once the Tango Kingdom Festival ends at 16:30, the TANGO Yasaka Noryo Festival will finally begin. If you purchase a bingo card, which will be sold from 5:00 p.m., you can participate in the bingo game sponsored by the Kyotango City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Youth Division. As the night approaches, the fireworks show begins!

The fireworks at the TANGO Yasaka Noryo Fireworks Festival are characterized by “musical fireworks of light” that are set off in time with music. This year, as many as 3,500 fireworks are scheduled to be launched into the night sky, just like before the coronavirus. If you come to the TANGO Yasaka Noryo Fireworks Festival with your friends, couples, or family wearing yukata, you will be able to fully enjoy the atmosphere of Japan’s pre-corona summer.

Ayabe Minazuki Festival

The second “Ayabe Minazuki Festival” we will introduce is also being held for the first time in three years!
At the Ayabe Minazuki Festival, 4,000 fireworks light up the night sky. Its enormous power and beauty provide visitors with memorable and enjoyable summer memories.

Also, its characteristics lie not only in the number of fireworks, but also in their types. Usually, the fireworks program is structured around a firework called “Starmine,” which is used at the climax of a fireworks display and fireworks are launched at almost the same time, so you can spend hours as if you were enjoying the power of the climax all the time. You’ll be able to spend some time.

Fireworks are not the only event you can enjoy at the Miyabe Minazuki Festival. “Manto Nagashi” and “Ayabe Ryo Sakui” are also must-sees if you want to fully enjoy the Ayabe Minazuki Festival!

First of all, “Manto Nagashi” is an event in which many lanterns are floated down the Yura River in Ayabe City, Kyoto Prefecture on the evening of the day of the Ayabe Minazuki Festival.
Its origin is said to have begun around the end of the Meiji era, when local residents of Namimatsu floated lanterns down the river to commemorate their ancestors. Today, you can see a total of 40 floaters on four boats floating the lanterns one by one into the river.
Visitors will be captivated by the magical sight of colorful Japanese paper lanterns floating gently in the evening darkness. If you are visiting the Ayabe Minazuki Festival, we recommend that you enjoy not only the fireworks but also the Manto Nagashi.

And “Ayabe Ryo, come on.”
This event has been held since 2000 as a major event of the Ayabe Minazuki Festival. It is an Ayabe style arrangement of Kochi Prefecture’s original Yosakoi, and incorporates the dance and music of Ayabe Odori, which has a 350-year history, into Yosakoi.
“Ayabe Ryo Sakui”, which combines old and new elements, has been loved by citizens for over 20 years. This year, we will be able to dance the traditional Ayabe Yoshisakii for the first time in three years, and you will be able to see the dancers show their enthusiasm.

As introduced, if you are planning to visit the Ayabe Minazuki Festival, be sure to enjoy the following three events.
・Manto nagashi
・Ayabe Ryo, come here.
・Fireworks
*Events to be held may change in the future. Please check the official website for the latest information.

71st Kameoka Peace Festival Hozugawa Citizen Fireworks Festival

The last thing we will introduce is the Kameoka Peace Festival Hozugawa Citizen Fireworks Festival.
This fireworks display, which features rare specially selected balls recommended by the Japan Pyrotechnics Association and a super-sized star mine at the end, has been held in Kameoka for many years to pray for peace.
In order to pray for the repose of the souls of the war dead in past wars and victims of disasters, we also pray for the health of people and world peace, including the spread of the new coronavirus and the war between Ukraine and Russia. In this situation, the city of Kameoka, which has declared itself a World Federation City of Peace, continues to set off fireworks to pray for world peace.
There are many stalls lined up around the area so you can enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. A food stall village will also be set up between the free area and the standing area. This year, when the coronavirus has calmed down a little and you can watch the fireworks festival with your loved ones, we recommend that you visit the Hozugawa Citizen Fireworks Festival.

Additionally, at the Kameoka Peace Festival Hozugawa Citizen Fireworks Festival, there will be paid viewing seats as well as free areas. If you have a paid viewing seat, you don’t have to go to the venue early to reserve a spot, and depending on the seating, you don’t need to reserve a spot. We recommend that you get your tickets early. The types and prices of paid seats are as follows.

1. Kameoka Station North Viewing Area
1 person, 3,000 yen
This is a new viewing area directly connected to JR Kameoka Station. It has the best access among all paid viewing seats, allowing you to enter and exit smoothly.
This paid area is a grassy park, but sheets (made of paper) will be distributed on the day of the event. If you wish to bring your own leisure sheet, please note that it is permitted as long as it is within 45cm per side per person. Also, children under elementary school age are free if accompanied by a guardian.

2. Oigawa Ryokuchi Higashi Park Reserved Seating Venue
1 seat, 3,000 yen (single seat chair)
You can enjoy the fireworks at your leisure with a reserved seat that doesn’t require you to reserve a spot! The location is also recommended as you have a special seat where you can look up at the fireworks.

3. Hozu Ohashi bridge venue
1 seat, 10,000 yen (180cm wide x 40cm long chaise longue, capacity for 3 people (can be purchased for less than 3 people))
The paid seats at this bridge venue are the only bridge seats in Kansai. You can enjoy a special view from the top of the bridge that is hard to see.
*Please note that bringing alcoholic beverages or drinking alcohol into the special venue on the bridge is prohibited.

4. Hozugawa Waterside Park Standing Area
800 yen per person (same-day ticket: 1,000 yen)
There are no seats in this standing area, so you cannot sit and watch the fireworks, but if you go to the front you can see the fireworks from a pretty good vantage point.
These paid seats are also free for elementary school students if accompanied by a guardian.
However, since this is a standing room area, taking up space with desks, chairs, leisure seats, etc. is prohibited. Also, please note that there may be no tickets available on the day of the event depending on sales conditions.

There are two ways to purchase paid seats: online and from FamilyMart.
